About the College
St Xavier’s College managed by the Congregation of Teresian Carmelites (C.T.C.), is an aided college established in 1964 and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The college was awarded A++ Grade (CGPA 3.68) in the fifth accreditation by NAAC .
It stands aloft on the banks of river Periyar in the vicinity of the historical Siva temple and the bustling metro city of Cochin envisioning empowerment of women through academic excellence and spiritual enlightenment for their educational, social and cultural enhancement.
Tracking the nation’s trajectory towards self-reliance and development, the college has flourished into an esteemed institution in 60 years with its focus on quality education and all round development of the womenfolk. Socially committed, our institution offers need-based free-ships and scholarship programmes to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The institution also provides an inclusive platform that enhances the strength and capabilities of students coming from diverse backgrounds.
Teaching Learning is at the core of the institutional ethos. We follow a student-centric approach. Teachers are trained as empowered agents to bring social change. The classroom is looked upon as a site of engaged learning, reflective action and participatory pedagogy. Acknowledging its contributions in the academic, cultural and social arena, NAAC has accredited the college with A++ Grade (3.68) in 2022.
These past few decades the institution has strived to foster a culture of Research and Innovation among its faculty and students and has imbued this through an active research and Innovation cell. Today, St.Xavier’s College for Women has evolved into a gateway to excellence.
