COMPUTER CENTRE

The St. Xavier’s Computer Centre, established in 1997, aims to offer students additional programs in computer languages to enhance their skills. The Centre’s Internet Café enables students to stay connected with global developments, encouraging them to explore educational websites and gain in-depth knowledge on topics of interest. The centre ensures an efficient and seamless online experience with high-speed internet and quality browsing facilities. Additionally, it provides support for student projects and assignments.

The Computer Centre is officially registered as a Sub-Centre for Continuing Education Kerala (CCEK). It offers the Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) program, approved by the Government of Kerala as a qualification for appointments through Kerala PSC (GO(Ms)No.37/2012/P&ARD dated 16/7/2012). The six-month DCA course is organised, examined, and certified by CCEK in a standardised manner.

Moreover, the Centre supports the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), a collaborative initiative of Kerala’s General and Higher Education Departments. ASAP’s foundation module focuses on communicative English and IT skills, preparing students for global work environments by equipping them with essential communication and technical competencies. To enhance the quality of learning, the Centre has implemented a Student Feedback System, which collects feedback for improving course delivery and allows for peer evaluation among teaching staff.

As part of the Government of India’s ‘National Digital Literacy Mission’ (NDLM), the Centre also provides opportunities for students to become digitally literate. Through this initiative, students learn to operate digital devices, send emails, and navigate the internet, ensuring they are equipped for the demands of a technology-driven world.
