The Department of Hindi started functioning in 1964 and offers additional language course to other courses. The Department had prepared and presented students for the Pre Examination Test conducted by the Dhakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha. The College won the second place at All Kerala level for presenting the larger no. of students in the year 1997-1998. Students also achieved first and second ranks in the examination. The department regularly organizes competitions in connection with Hindi day and Munshi Premchand Jayanthi. A club”Soch Vichar” functions under the department to extend the use of Hindi beyond textbooks.
Scope and Features
Hindi is taught as a common course in St.Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva. Hindi is a language which is used for communication in India. The programme provides communication skills to the students. This helps them to survive in any part of India especially in North India. The programme opens the window of Literature and tends the students to turn towards post graduation in Hindi.
