DEPARTMENT OF MALAYALAM
Welcome to the Department of Malayalam at St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva, where tradition, innovation, and community engagement converge to create a dynamic learning environment. Established in 1964, we are proud to be the soul of the college, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Malayalam studies.
Our department is equipped with a beautiful library and ICT-enabled classrooms, ensuring that students have access to resources and technology necessary for their academic journey. We are committed to sustainability and gender equality, offering programs related to green initiatives, women’s studies, and cultural studies.
Through experiential learning systems such as demonstrations of art forms and meet-the-author sessions, we enrich students’ understanding of Malayalam language and culture. Our student support programs, including personality development classes, remedial coaching, and mentoring sessions, aim to nurture the holistic development of each student.
We promote a research culture through seminars, workshops, and paper presentation sessions. Additionally, our bridge courses and career-oriented programs, such as UGC NET Coaching, Entrepreneurship Development, and an Add-on Course in Fashion Technology, prepare students for success in their chosen fields.
Committed to community service, we engage in environmental activities and innovate public libraries. To encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, we organize inter-departmental and inter-collegiate competitions and exhibitions. Join us in our journey of academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility.
